Perinatal Chiropractic Benefits
Discover the many ways chiropractic care can support a healthier, more comfortable pregnancy.
Pelvic Alignment and Balance
Maintain proper pelvic alignment to promote optimal fetal positioning, reduce intrauterine constraint, and support a smoother delivery process.
Pain Relief Without Medication
Gentle adjustments relieve lower back pain, sciatica, round ligament pain, and neck and hip discomfort—all without medication.
Improved Nervous System Function
Address spinal misalignments to support the nervous system, enhancing overall function and your body's ability to adapt to pregnancy changes.
Shorter Labor Times
Studies suggest chiropractic care may help reduce labor duration and decrease the need for medical interventions by optimizing pelvic biomechanics.
Enhanced Mobility and Posture
As your body changes, chiropractic care eases muscular tension and supports better posture and movement throughout pregnancy.
Postpartum Benefits
Continue your wellness journey with specialized postpartum care that supports recovery and new motherhood.
Rebalancing the Pelvis and Spine
Pregnancy and delivery often shift or misalign the pelvis and spine. Chiropractic care gently realigns these structures, helping relieve tailbone pain, pubic symphysis dysfunction, and sacroiliac joint instability.
Alleviating Back, Neck, and Shoulder Pain
Feeding, carrying, rocking, and nursing positions can strain the upper body. Chiropractic adjustments reduce muscular tension and improve posture, relieving chronic tightness and stress.
Faster Core Recovery
Adjustments support core stabilization by improving posture, decreasing spinal load, and helping the abdominal wall heal—especially helpful for diastasis recti.
Hormonal & Mood Regulation
The spine influences nervous system balance, which is directly connected to hormonal regulation. Care may help reduce symptoms of the "baby blues," anxiety, and postpartum stress through vagal tone support and nervous system regulation.
Improved Sleep & Energy
Better alignment often reduces body aches, enhances breathing capacity, and helps the body enter more restful sleep cycles—even in fragmented postpartum sleep routines.
Support for Nursing and Infant Care Posture
Adjustments reduce mid-back strain while breastfeeding and prevent long-term spinal rounding and repetitive-use injuries from lifting baby, car seats, etc.
Non-Medication Based Pain Relief
Particularly important for new mothers who prefer to avoid or minimize medication during breastfeeding or recovery.
Empowerment & Preventive Wellness
Creates space for intentional recovery, not just survival. Ongoing visits help support a long-term wellness plan and encourage mothers to prioritize their health alongside their baby's.
Your Perinatal Care Journey
From early pregnancy through postpartum recovery, we support you at every stage with specialized care tailored to your body's changing needs.
Initial Consultation
Early Pregnancy: Weeks 6–14
A full intake and health history focused on current pregnancy status, past pregnancies, and any musculoskeletal concerns. We perform a postural and spinal assessment, provide a gentle introductory adjustment if appropriate, and educate you on how your body changes during pregnancy and how chiropractic can support those shifts.
Goal:
Begin with a baseline alignment and identify any imbalances early to prevent discomfort later.
Ongoing Prenatal Care
2nd Trimester to Late 3rd Trimester
Typically bi-weekly visits, moving to weekly in the final month. We focus on pelvic alignment and mobility to support fetal positioning, relief from growing physical strain (back pain, round ligament pain, sciatica), nervous system regulation, and improved sleep. We use specialized pregnancy pillows or tables for your comfort and apply the Webster Technique for pelvic balance, soft tissue release, ligament work, and posture coaching.
Goal:
Help you feel balanced, mobile, and comfortable as your body grows and changes, while preparing for birth.
Birth Prep Support
Weeks 36–40
We fine-tune pelvic alignment for optimal fetal engagement, reduce tension in the uterus and surrounding tissues, and provide breathwork and movement recommendations for labor support. This stage includes emotional grounding and nervous system calming to help you feel prepared.
Goal:
Support a smoother, more efficient labor and reduce risk of interventions.
Postpartum Recovery
0–12+ Weeks After Birth
Beginning as early as 1–2 weeks postpartum (depending on delivery and recovery), we provide regular visits as needed during the first 3 months. Focus includes realignment of pelvis and spine after birth, support for diastasis recti and core rehabilitation, pain relief from nursing and carrying, and rebalancing the nervous system to promote rest, digestion, and mood stability.
Goal:
Help you reclaim your body, heal deeply, and feel physically supported while adjusting to new routines.

Perinatal Care Questions

Yes, chiropractic care is safe and beneficial during pregnancy when performed by a trained practitioner. We use gentle, pregnancy-specific techniques and specialized equipment to ensure your comfort and safety. Our practitioners are certified in prenatal care and the Webster Technique.
You can begin chiropractic care at any stage of pregnancy. Many women start in their first trimester to establish a baseline and address early discomforts. However, it's never too late to start—we welcome patients at any point in their pregnancy journey.
Most women can begin postpartum chiropractic care within 1-2 weeks after a vaginal delivery, depending on how you're feeling. For cesarean births, we typically recommend waiting 4-6 weeks. We'll assess your individual situation and create a safe timeline for your recovery.
The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic analysis and adjustment for pregnant women. It focuses on reducing sacral subluxation and balancing pelvic muscles and ligaments. This can help optimize pelvic function, reduce intrauterine constraint, and support optimal fetal positioning.
Visit frequency varies based on your individual needs. Generally, we recommend bi-weekly visits during the second trimester, increasing to weekly visits in the final month before delivery. We'll create a personalized care plan based on your specific situation and goals.
While chiropractors don't turn babies, the Webster Technique can help optimize pelvic alignment and reduce tension in surrounding muscles and ligaments. This creates an environment that may allow the baby to move into a more optimal position naturally.
No, prenatal adjustments are gentle and comfortable. We use specialized pregnancy pillows and tables that accommodate your growing belly. Our techniques are modified for each trimester to ensure your safety and comfort throughout your pregnancy.
